The Extreme Max Swivel-Top Bunk Bracket is the perfect option for the DIYer looking to build their own bunk trailer or the jack-of-all-trades working to repair an existing bunk trailer. The brackets mount directly to the trailers crossmembers. The swivel top of the bracket sits at whichever angle you choose, providing a custom fit to your boat and trailer needs. The bracket installs easily, utilizing a U-bolt around the trailer crossmember to secure it to the trailer and a set of lag bolts to secure the swivel top to the bunk. Intended for use in freshwater applications only; oxidation may occur in brackish and saltwater. Extreme Max offers a variety of sizes to fit crossmembers 1.5 x 3 up to 3 x 3, as well as bracket heights available from 8 tall to 12 tall.
I had a tough time getting these brackets set up. The hardware that came with them was okay, but some screws didn’t fit well, and I had to find replacements. Once they were on, they’ve been functional, but the hassle during setup was frustrating. Hope they hold up long-term!

A bit flimsy for heavy loads
While the Extreme Max brackets are easy to install and look nice, I was disappointed by the strength when I loaded my heavier gear. They bent slightly under the weight. They might be perfect for lighter items, but for heavy use, I’d suggest looking for something more robust.

Solid brackets for my trailer
I used the Extreme Max 3006 swivel top bunk brackets on my 2x3 trailer and they’ve really held up well. The galvanized finish provides great rust protection, which is crucial since I often use my trailer near the water. Installation was straightforward with the included hardware, and everything feels super sturdy!
