Rubber reducer allows a lower radiator hose with a molded-in spring to be used as an upper radiator hose. In continuous high RPM applications, the upper hose can collapse limiting coolant flow. Upper hoses with an internal spring support can also collapse if the spring is drawn into the radiator tank. Reducer fits inside 1-3/4 lower radiator hoses which have molded-in reinforcement springs and reduces the I. D. from 1-3/4 to 1-1/2.
I used the Allstar Performance radiator hose reducer for my 5.0 Mustang. The 1.75 to 1.5 inch sizing was perfect, and it fits snugly without any leaks. Very pleased with the quality — feels durable and well-made!

Arrived damaged, very disappointed
Unfortunately, the radiator hose reducer I received had a dent in it. It’s disappointing because I needed it for a track day this weekend. I’ll have to wait for a replacement before I can even use it. Not happy!
